Both ovens cook extremely well and I have been delighted with the results, and it is very useful to be able to set the gas burners to simmer without worrying that they will go out. The largest burner suits a preserving pan well. There are a few fairly minor inconveniences. The burners are tricky to light, usually needing two attempts, sometimes several. The clock is slow and fiddly to set and the bar across the front partially masks it and the oven controls so that it is necessary to kneel to see them fully. For this reason I would not recommend the Rangemaster to people of my age or older though I am happy to use it and confident that I can offer guests a mealI am proud of.The chrome bar is useful to hang an overcloth on but otherwise seems to be cosmetic. as we are warned against using it to pull the stove forward for cleaning. although seems to be the obvious part to use for this.
My wife and I both like it. No reliability problems after several years use. Like the "simmering" controls which maintain a minimum level but prevent switching off entirely. Would have preferred a glass door on the smaller oven as well as the larger one. My wife suspects the fan ovens don't achieve the indicated temperatures, but we cannot confirm this since we do not have a thermometer. All controls have a nice positive feel and the general standard of construction is high.
After 5 years, we still love this cooker. Nothing's gone wrong, it cooks well with a wide range of burner sizes and it's easy to clean. Thoroughly recommended.
