Morphy Richards irons reviews
In tough Which? tests Morphy Richards irons tend to achieve average to excellent scores for heat-up time and good to excellent scores for ease of storage. Most models score well for noise and just under half of the models we’ve tested score well for performance.
However, other models score poorly for performance (which includes our expert ironer's verdict on the quality of results achieved using the irons we test) and several models score very poorly for descaling. To test how well an iron descales itself, we use a specially built rig that rocks each iron at timed intervals to simulate ironing. We turn each iron on for two hours at a time, then allow it to rest for an hour, using it a total of 24 hours to simulate three months worth of ironing.
We then follow the descaling method as recommended by the manufacturer before using the iron for another two hours. The steam rate is measured and compared to the rate achieved when the iron was new – the best irons will still be performing as good as new. We also record whether any limescale comes out of the iron during the last two hours so you can avoid getting flecks of loosened scale on your clothes.

Morphy Richards steam generators
Morphy Richards steam generators tend to fare quite well in our lab tests, scoring well to excellent for ease of filling and achieving average to good scores for performance. One model also scores excellently for descaling.
However, a couple of models score very poorly for ease of storage and scores for heat-up time vary from good to poor. All the Morphy Richards steam generators we’ve tested come with a removable anti-calcium cartridge, which will need replacing regularly, and two of them have an auto shut-off function.
