Dry cleaners Dry cleaning labels
The symbols in the table show how a garment should be cleaned
Fibre content and care labels Clothing manufacturers have to insert a fibre content label telling us what our clothes are made of. But care labels, showing a dry cleaner how to treat your clothes, aren’t mandatory, even though almost all dry clean-only garments will have one of one kind or another, even if it just says, 'Dry clean only'.
Detailed care labels are more helpful Labels that show these symbols will give a dry cleaner more information about how to clean the clothes and will give them a better chance of cleaning them properly without causing damage. It’s worth being aware of what these symbols mean and showing the dry cleaner the label the next time you take your clothes to be cleaned.
