Great iron - as modern ones go, why are Which? moaning about weight?!
I bought this about 2 years ago now, when my 13 year old Rowenta started to leak water from the reservoir. This iron has only one drawback in use: it's no where near heavy enough. I don't get why Which? are saying it's heavy: to do it's job an Iron has to be heavy - that's why Irons used to be made of cast iron! Duh!!!My first iron was a second hand Morphy Richards Senior dry iron - I still have it and it still works and it heats up much faster than either the Rowenta or this one. It also uses less than half the electricity of either the Rowenta or this one. I only bought the Rowenta for the steam function. It was much lighter than the Senior and much heavier than this one. With the Rowenta I could use it on the medium steam setting and with one fill of water I could do a huge pile or ironing - certainly a whole week's worth - in one go.Wit this one, because it is so light, I have to use the maximum steam setting all the time and still press on hard enough to end up with my arm aching long before I've done, and I have to fill it up 2 or 3 times because i'm using the full steam.Other than that, it's been a welcome surprise how great it is and I'm very happy with it.Worth noting that I did NOT buy it because of the Which? test but because it was a British brand that I felt I could trust. The price was less than £40, not the ludicrous £64 that Which? are showing at present. If I'd seen the Which? report I'd probably not have bought it, which would have been a shame.
