Washing machines: Compare features & prices Bosch WAE24368GB review

The Bosch WAE24368GB is part of Bosch's Classixx entry-level washing machine range. The standard 7kg drum and 1200rpm spin speed is supplemented with EcoPerfect and SpeedPerfect modes as well as convenience programs like the super quick 15-minute wash. To see how the standard programs deals with washing, we sent it to the Which? test lab.

One criticsm is that it does not appear to have 'spin only' programme, only a 'rinse and spin'. The review mentions a lot of noise when spinning, I have not noticed this.

Very happy with one gripe
The machine has been in and is working fine, clothes seem good and clean and the spin speed is much higher than our old one so clothes come out a lot drier. Only gripe, which I have not read elsewhere as being an issue, is that we have this machine under a work surface and behind a wooden door. The soap drawer does not come out far enough to get the powder in! So we either have to take the whole drawer out or use a funnel I have fashioned from an old milk carton. Our old machine (23 years) did not have this issue - I think the reason is that this new Bosch has a sloping front panel rather than a square one (modern design), so the drawer is just set that much further back and does not come out far enough. Apart from that, fine

Only had machine for 3 weeks , but in that time I have been more than happy with it. My old machine was a Bosch and served me faithfully for about 16 years, so decided to retire it and get a newer model. My plus comments would be 15 min wash ( amazing)Aqua PlusSpeed perfectThe only down is that is not quite as quiet as my old machine, but otherwise excellent

Sometimes I cannot manage to use the reload action, but overall I find the machine does what it is supposed to do. I find the information sheet a little short on info. I cannot seem to find exactly what I want in it, but that could be me!! I have not used many of the programmes but the short wash of 15 mins. is very useful, but I have to use the spin programme after wards because the clothes are still quite wet. I think that I still prefer the Miele but it costs too much.

Excellent machine
We have owned this machine since August 2012 and are very pleased with it. It is quite simple to use and much quieter than our old machine. Build quality appears to be very good and overall it appears to be very good value.

over spins
Machine washes fine but I find the spin even when reduced to 1000 is too heavy. Linens and cottons come out with semi permenant creases, so everything needs a really strong steam iron to get rid of them. it generates more work in the long term.

brilliant machine!
I had a 14 year old Bosch machine that still worked, but the programme cycle was starting to stick in more and more places and it was very noisy (like an aircraft taking off in my kitchen), so I decided to get this new Bosch to replace it before it died on me.I first tried to order it from John Lewis, but they were out of stock and couldn't say when they'd get more, so I ordered it on-line from Cooperative Electricals instead. The delivered for free and installed and took away the old one for an additional £30 -- well worth it in my view. I had to pick a delivery day, but once I did, they sent me an email the evening before to give me a 90 minute slot when they would deliver, so I didn't have to plan to be in all day. Their delivery men were local, friendly, very tidy and careful and did a good job -- couldn't fault it.The machine itself is just brilliant! It gives me all the programme choices I could ever need, washes and spins wonderfully well, and is amazingly quiet -- I could easily have a phone conversation or listen to the radio while sitting next to it during the spin. So overall, I'm just delighted with this machine and can't recommend it highly enough!

Excellent value from a quality brand and a great product
This year has been hard on the pocket a couple of household appliances have failed, after debating buying a cheaper / inferior brand , I decided it was not worth the hassle. afterall I have had bosch trade tools and a fridge freezer, that have performed superbly for many years and are still running with the same level of performance. This washer has so far been very immpressive , good range of settings and clothes come out clean and the 1200 spind does a very good job some clothes dont even need drying. I advised a friend a few years a go to buy a bosch washer , based on the which review and she was blown away with it , its still running today after many years and still impressive. like me if your still using a washer which is 15+ years old , its time to change , the new washers are something else , the clothes are washed better and feel fresher, and there are many convenient time saving functions. I was so impressed that that (no I didnt buy the company) I also bought a Which? best buy Bosch tumble dryer and that too is so far very impressive. (never had a tumble dryer before , 1st one . sick of waiting for clothes to dry during the winter ) you want quality and performance , you cant go wrong with bosch. plus 2 year warranty.

Great value and can be set to wash popular programmes in an hour.
This model is excellent value and should have been higher rated. The Which report says it takes a long time to do a full wash, but you can press the speedy switch and it will do a great short but full wash in an hour on any of the most used programme settings. And as has been mentioned, how many programmes do you actually need to do a laundry wash? Or you can ask for a 15 minute special for really lightly soiled items. Originally thought the one attachment to the cold water made it less economical but when most of us turn on the hot water tap in the kitchen it does not come out hot immediately. It takes about as much time as the water going into the machine to even get warm. So pleased we chose this model over the more expensive Bosch machines. You can also get it down to £348 at Currys at the moment (Oct 12).

Have only had this machine for a few weeks. Our previous Bosch gave up after 9 years of good service. So far we would entirely agree with Karen's comments.

excellent wash
I have owned this machine for 2 months and am very pleased with it. It has a good range of wash programmes and spin speeds. You can either use the automatic wash/spin selection or you can adjust the spin speed to suit yourself. The clothes have come out nice and clean - as I would expect. I felt the price of this model is excellent value, it doesn't have all the extras the top of the range machines have, but would I use all these extra features? I doubt it, I would rather pay less for a good quality machine and have less programme options. My only gripe is the length of the full load wash programmes (approx 2hrs 40 mins). But the majority of machines take this long, I don't think it is exclusive to this model. It is much quieter than my old machine too. All in all a great machine that I would definitely recommend.
