Toaster reviews you can trust

Toasters from the biggest brands, and cheaper own brands, are tested at the Which? test lab. We test two-slice and four-slice toasters with fresh bread, paying special attention to how well each toaster browns a whole slice and how even the browning is - these are the aspects that you have told us are most important to you. We also check how quickly bread toasts and whether a range of different bread shapes, such as crumpets and bagels, fit in. Finally, we assess how straightforward each toaster is to use and clean. When a toaster does well in all of our tests, you'll know it will be great when you get it home.

Which? is independent - we work for you, the consumer, so you can be sure that our product recommendations are influenced only by our test results. We don't take advertising and we buy all the products that we test ourselves, so our advice helps you to make the right choice first time and avoid costly mistakes.
