Finding the right bank account Find the best account if you're in credit
A good rate of interest is important if you're always in credit
Bank account interest rates
If you’re always in credit then the most important feature of a current account is likely to be the in-credit interest rate.
All of our Best Rate accounts offer a decent return on your money – although, be sure to watch out for bonus rates that only last for a short period of time.
If you opt for a current account with a bonus rate, you will probably find the interest rate drops sharply at the end of the bonus period, at which point you may want to switch current account again.
Which? Recommended Providers
If good customer service is important to you, then you may want to opt for a Which? Recommended Provider (WRP).
These banks and building societies have to get the best scores in our latest customer satisfaction surveys and must have at least one top-10 account for either credit interest, overdrafts or current account mortgages.
Watch out for banks that don’t do so well on customer satisfaction, though. We highlight those providers that offer good rates but score less than 50% for customer satisfaction.
