Almost one in five of us now make calls over the net using voice over internet protocol (Voip) providers such as Skype.
Voip can significantly cut your phone bills – particularly if you call overseas regularly – and allow free calls to friends who are with the same provider.

A standard daytime call to Australia costs 24p a minute with BT. Making the same call from a Skype account to an Australian landline costs 1.4p.
