Travel insurance Travel insurance for couples

If you are going on holiday with your partner you can buy one policy to cover both of you. The table below show the best travel insurance policies for couples. Single Trip (7 day trip to Europe for a 45-year-old couple, a 60-year-old couple and a 75-year-old couple). Annual Multi trip (worldwide for a 45-year-old couple, a 60-year-old couple and a 75-year-old couple).

Some insurers offer a discount when buying a joint policy. Below, we have provided the individual premium so you're able to see where an insurer applies a discount.

Remember, however, to check the terms of the policy closely. Some insurers charge individual excesses, so a claim affecting you and your partner could mean a double deduction.

Which? Best Rate travel insurance

Which? Best Rate travel insurance policies provide the cheapest cover meeting our stringent criteria. Our policies include at least £2 million of medical cover for Europe and £5 million worldwide, £1,500 of cover for baggage and personal belongings and £3,000 for cancellation or curtailment.

We have also analysed the 22 most important elements of your travel insurance policy to see which providers offer the best all-round cover. Along with the standard features, we've assessed insurers for their terms on missed departures, delays, holiday and airline failure, terrorism cover and volcanic ash. Insurers that have a policy score of less than 65% are not included in the table.

It is worth noting that policy details can change depending on how you buy the cover. Buying via a comparison site, for instance, could mean there may be age restrictions on cover. Likewise if you apply for winter sports cover. Always check the terms and conditions against your requirements and if there is a difference, buy direct from the provider. If there is a premium difference insurers may price match the quote you received elsewhere.
