ITV and 3 announce mobile streaming dealService set for autumn launch

ITV has struck a deal with mobile company 3 to stream programmes live to its mobile phones.

The deal will enable the 3.5 million customers on 3 to watch ITV1 and ITV Play, which will become the UK's first live streamed terrestrial mobile channels.

Charles Allen, Chief Executive of ITV said: ‘We are delighted that we are teaming up with 3 to be the first terrestrial broadcaster in the UK to launch this kind of service. This is a bold new service from ITV and 3 which makes the ambition of fully streamed mobile TV a reality.’

Full details will be announced nearer the time of this autumn's launch.
