A new long-haul, low-fare air service starts at Britain's biggest airport today.

Tour operator Canadian Affair, in association with Canadian holiday airline Air Transat, is starting Heathrow to Toronto services from £198 return.

Flights will depart each Saturday and Sunday from Heathrow using Airbus A310 aircraft.

Low-cost

Canadian Affair already operates flights between Gatwick and Toronto and also flies to Canada from six other UK airports.

The company's managing director Anette Rayner said: 'We are delighted to introduce low-cost services from Heathrow.

'British travellers now have the option of flying to Canada from this premier airport, while taking advantage of our lowest fares - which are widely available, unlike some other operators.'
