Sony DVD player boasts super-long battery lifePortable machine will play for up to six hours

Sony has unveiled its latest portable DVD player which it says boasts super-long battery life to keep you watching your favourite films for up to six hours at a time.

The DVP-FX850 comes in a clamshell case and has a 8in widescreen display that can swivel around 180 degrees.

Sony says the player is both portable and robust and that its high-resolution screen ‘brings every detail to life.’

Hiro Shinohara, Director of Sony Home Video said: ‘Essentially what the DVP-FX850 gives you is freedom.

‘It can go anywhere, you can set it up in seconds, and it has great battery life, so it just keeps on going.

‘It’s perfect for anyone with a footloose lifestyle who loves movies and wants to be able to enjoy them wherever and whenever they choose.’

Twin headphones

The DVP-FX850 has twin headphone outputs to allow two people to listen in comfort as well as digital optical outputs for hi-fi connections and an A/V jack for plugging it into a TV.

A USB port will also allow you to plug in a camera or a music player to look at your digital photos or listen to MP3s.
