Sony is launching a micro home cinema system complete with speakers that fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
And it says that despite the compact nature of the DAV-IS10’s speakers, they have enough power to fill even large rooms with breathtaking surround sound.
The five tiny speakers are the size of a golf ball and can be hidden away on shelves, wall mounted with supplied brackets or used on optional slim line stands.
Sony says the system can be set up in approximately 30 seconds and works seamlessly with Bravia TVs allowing users to easily work the system and their TV using one remote control.
At the heart of the system is the control centre, combining DVD/CD/MP3 player with an RDS FM/AM radio tuner.
The DAV-IS10, which is available from September, will also connect to MP3 players, mobile phones or a home computer network through a digital media port.
Which? TV expert Mike Briggs said: ‘We haven’t tested this system yet. However, with such small speakers it will be interesting to see whether it really has the breathtaking surround sound that Sony says it has.’
