New satnav deal will help you find a hotelTomTom signs partnership with tourist authority
08 September 2007
Driving around looking for a hotel or guesthouse should become less of a problem after a new deal between TomTom satnav and national tourist agency VisitBritain.
The new partnership means that 5,000 attractions, 500 tourist information centres and 17,000 hotels and other accommodation in England will be loaded on to TomTom satellite navigation systems.
Customers can easily access and download the information at www.enjoyengland.com/tomtom and then transfer this information to a TomTom device through an ‘Add-to-my-TomTom’ button.
Specific icons will appear on their screen when they get near attractions, tourist information centres and quality assessed accommodation.
Tim Holt, of VisitBritain, said: ‘It should particularly encourage casual and day visitors, putting them on the right route to a wealth of attractions and quality accommodation.’
