Ramsay restaurant 'top in London'Good Food Guide's capital top ten

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has won the accolade of London’s top eaterie in the Good Food Guide’s latest rankings.
Eleven London restaurants made it into the first ever UK top 40 compiled by the new-look Good Food Guide.
Runner-up Le Gavroche goes from strength to strength improving its cooking score from seven to eight, now just one behind Gordon Ramsay which scored nine out of ten.
According to the guide, the opulent basement dining room of Le Gavroche hasn't changed much over the last 38 years, but the kitchen is now able to match the standard of its high-art desserts right across the board.And its set lunch is one of London's best bargains.
Good Food Guide ranking
The guide’s rankings are extremely thorough - using expert inspections and reader feedback - so evaluations are based on several meals.
Le Gavroche got a great review from the expert inspector, but also very positive reader feedback throughout the year.
Elizabeth Carter, Editor of The Good Food Guide, said: ‘Gordon Ramsay's restaurant is the best in London and an unmissable experience. But Michel Roux's cooking at Le Gavroche has really gone up a gear in the last year and fully deserves second place in the capital.’
