Electrolux has said that there is a very small risk that some of its dishwashers could overheat and catch fire.
It says the problem – which it blames on a faulty component – affects certain models of Electrolux, AEG-Electrolux and Zanussi-Electrolux dishwashers sold after June 2006.
The company is asking customers to check their dishwasher’s product and serial numbers to see whether their model is affected.
If it is, then they should stop using the dishwasher, switch it off and call Electrolux.
To find out whether you have one of the affected dishwashers, you need to find the product number code and serial number.
These are on the rating plate on the right side of the dishwasher door, and in the user manual which came with the dishwasher.
You can then enter these on the Electrolux website to see whether your dishwasher is affected.
If it is, call 0800 707 6258 to arrange for a free visit by a service engineer.
Lines are open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Alternatively, you can email your name, address, telephone number, dishwasher model, product number code and serial number to email@example.com.
