Kia has released shots of its latest car due to hit UK showrooms next year.
The Kia Soul has evolved from a concept car of the same name which was first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in 2006.
The Soul is an entirely new model for the Korean company and, despite looking like a mini-SUV, it will be front wheel drive only at launch.
Kia’s chief design officer Peter Schreyer said: ‘The name Soul accurately reflects how people will be able to ‘express their spirit – their psyche’ with this new product.
‘Through a variety of options, accessories and colours, they will be able to personalise their Kia Soul and create a sense of individuality, making their new car a true reflection of their personality.’
The car will make its full debut at the Paris Motor Show in October and is expected to go on sale in the UK in early 2009.
Value for money
Which? motoring editor Richard Headland said: ‘The Soul looks like yet another crossover family car, and is likely to offer good value for money.
‘Personalising cars is becoming increasingly popular, so it will be interesting to see how many buyers take advantage of the Soul’s varied option list.’
