Hot car deals, 26 September, 2008We reveal the latest bargains for car buyers
26 September 2008
Here's our round-up of this week's most eye-catching deals. The credit crunch continues to offer bargain-hunters some great discounts.
VW
Volkswagen (VW) is a brand with a strong image, and traditionally it's difficult to get a deal on a VW. But, with the economy as it is right now, anything is possible.
Drive the Deal has a selection of different VWs in stock - all new, some unregistered, all heavily discounted.
Our favourite picks include £4,915 off a Passat BlueMotion diesel estate, including metallic paint, iPod connection and front armrest for £14,250 instead of £19,195, and a £2,112 discount on an unregistered Tiguan diesel, at £21,828 instead of £23,940.
Nissan
As we recently reported, there’s an all-new Nissan Murano on the way. If you like the looks but not the £33,000 price tag, try searching for remainder stocks of the previous version – UK Car Discount is offering these at £10,600 off.
If you are going to buy a 3.5-litre V6 petrol off-roader, £20,050 is a much more attractive starting price.
At the other end of the price range, £3,231 off a no-nonsense Japanese runabout seems attractive. Motorpoint has some 2007-registered, 1.2-litre petrol Micra Spirita cars (three-doors) priced at £5,399 – some with less than 9,000 miles.
Saab
Broadspeed has a phone-only offer on Saab 9-3 turbodiesels that need to be cleared from stock. This encompasses 08- and 58-plate models that are new, unused or with less than 100 miles on the clock.
With discounts of up to £8,000 it could well be worth a call. Contact Broadspeed on 0800 191 0000 or 07956 200 000.
