Proton is currently discounting its GEN-2 by up to £2,800.
The Proton GEN-2 may not be exciting, as we’ve remarked before, but with that amount of money off right now it’s a lot of car for little cash – and the equipment list includes air conditioning.
In fact, the 1.3-litre GLS LE model is available for £6,995. While the Hyundai i10 is more modern and available with air con for slightly less, the GEN-2 is a larger, sportier looking car. An additional £500 buys you the 1.6 GLS LE at £7,495.
But while these GLS variants are reduced by just over £2,000, the bigger £2,800 discount is on the GSX LE.
Available with a manual gearbox for £8,495 or as an automatic for £8,995, the GSX LE also includes a free leather interior upgrade, worth £1,000 – plus all-round electric windows, climate control, front fog lights and a boot spoiler.
All GEN-2s include an impressive six-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and a three-year/60,000 mile total vehicle warranty. The offer stands until 31 October, or until stocks last.
