All-new Mazda3 set for November unveilingAll-new replacement for Best Buy 3 medium hatch
10 October 2008
Mazda has announced an all-new version of its Best Buy 3 medium hatchback.
The 3 car will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show next month.
It will be shown first as a saloon version, which is more appropriate to the American market, and in US specification. But Mazda indicates that it won’t be long before the all-new five-door hatchback variant makes its first appearance.
1.8m sold since 2003
Compared to the current generation – of which approximately 1.8 million have been sold worldwide since its launch in 2003 – Mazda is promising the new car will be more refined and sportier, while also offering highly competitive fuel economy.
It looks far more visually striking, too, in line with the latest Mazda2 and Mazda6, which are also amongst the best cars to drive in their sectors.
No word on pricing, or details of when the new Mazda3 goes on sale in the UK – but we anticipate sometime before the middle of next year.
The wraps come off the all-new Mazda3 saloon in Los Angeles on 19 November.
