Hot car deals, 24 October 2008Great deals on Fiat, Jaguar and even Aston Martin

24 October 2008

Proving once again that the economic downturn is the friend of the new and used car bargain-hunter, here is our regular round up of the best car deals we've spotted.

Market watch – new and used car deals

Fiat Grande Punto deals

Fiat Grande Punto - loads of deals around

A good bet for a cheap car right now is the Fiat Grande Punto. There’s loads of stock floating about, so expect to save around £2,000 (or more) on virtually any model.

If no-nonsense entry-level motoring is your thing try the basic Grande Punto 1.2 Active petrol three-door. UK Car Discount has these at £2,100 off including Blue & Me phone and media interface.

It’s not a fast car, but stylish, and good value at £6,750 instead of £8,850. And if you're happy to have a Grande Punto that’s already done 10,000 miles, car supermarket Motorpoint has several priced from just £4,999.

Aston Martin Vantage deal

Save a cool £30k on an Aston Martin Vantage

Shooting right to the opposite end of the car market, how would you like to save £30,000?

Unfortunately this is on the achingly attractive Aston Martin Vantage, and probably beyond the means of most of us.

Still, this is on new or unused 08- and 58-plate Vantage Coupés or Roadsters, all with less than 100 miles on the clock. Guess the city bonuses aren’t quite as fat as expected right now…which is good news if you already have ‘Aston Martin money’ swilling around your bank account.

Call Broadspeed on 0800 033 6600 for more details – this is another of Broadspeed’s telephone-only deals.

Jaguar XF deals

Save at least £2k on an XF

Want to save money on the stylish Jaguar XF? Orange Wheels reckons its stock cars are often discounted up to £2,000, but you'll need to phone for details: 0845 466 0222.

Another sensible option is to buy the Jag XF as a used car. Best prices are on 2.7 diesel Luxury models, which cost £33,900 when new. One of these can be yours for less than £30,000 with 14,000 miles under the wheels – although we have spotted a couple with just 3,500 miles. Try Allied Trade Sales.
