Black & Decker Dustbuster chalks up 30 yearsNew handheld vacuum cleaner range for anniversary
18 November 2008
Next year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Black & Decker Dustbuster and to celebrate this, Black and Decker has launched some additions to the Dustbuster range.
Most models in the range bear little resemblance to the original Dustbuster of 1979.
The new PV1805N 18V Pivot Nose Dustbuster is available from Comet and Currys, and is claimed to be the most powerful cordless handheld vac on the market, with a higher input power that the now well-established Dyson DC16 handheld vacuum cleaner, reviewed by Which? in 2007.
Another new Dustbuster, also available from Comet, is the Black & Decker Dustbuster Eco Extreme that is claimed to use 66% less energy than a standard hand vacuum cleaner.
Which? senior researcher Katie Waller said: ‘Black & Decker is probably the biggest name in handheld vacuum cleaners in the UK, so it’s good to see the Dustbuster range is still going strong and that new models are targeting energy saving, a subject currently high in consumers’ minds.’
Other new models are the DV9605 Cyclonic Action Dustbuster, also from the Dustbuster range, and the FV1205N stick vacuum cleaner. These new models can be found in Argos, Comet or Currys with prices ranging from £54.99 to £99.
