Hot car deals, 20 November 2008Buy one car get one free - for a limited time only
20 November 2008
Fancy two new cars for the price of one? Or a brand-new Mazda MX-5 for £13,000? These are just two of the great car deals we’ve spotted this week.
Market Watch – new and used deals
Magentis - two for one
A few weeks ago internet car broker Broadspeed was doing a mystery ‘buy one, get one free’ deal on a new £20,000 saloon. The cars in question turned out to be Dodge Avengers, and we weren’t too keen on recommending them.
Now, however, Broadspeed’s at it again – only this time with the Kia Magentis, which means even less money.
Again, the Magentis is no market leader, but when you can have two of these large saloons for as little as £15,220 – that’s just £7,610 each – it’s a hard offer to ignore. The deal went live at 9am, 20 November, and the cars are expected to sell fast…
Great Mazda MX-5 deals
Much more our kind of car is the Which? Best Buy Mazda MX-5. We’ve highlighted a few deals on this over recent months, but nothing quite as good as this.
Sunwin Motors – a large dealer group in the Midlands and Northern areas – is selling pre-registered 1.8i ‘Option Pack’ MX-5s for £12,995 and the better 2.0i Option Packs for £13,995. List prices are £16,550 and £17,550, respectively – a considerable £3,555 off.
However, while that is an excellent deal – especially on the MX-5 2.0i – Perrys Motor Sales goes even further. A brand-new 2.0i Option Pack MX-5 for £14,495 isn’t bad, but £13,044 for a brand new 1.8i Option Pack is brilliant – especially once you learn that both include three years’/37,000-miles free servicing. Seriously tempting…
Cheap Passat wagons at Motorpoint
Car supermarket Motorpoint suddenly has a large number of Volkswagen Passat estates in stock, which unusually combine entry-level S trim with VW’s impressive 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine and DSG automatic gearbox.
They are all on a 57-plate and, depending on mileage, are priced £9,699-£10,299. List price for this Passat new – including metallic paint as here – is £21,200, so these cars are less than half price and only a year old. If you’re interested, it’s best to spend the top £10,299, and get one with less than 10,000 miles.
