Nissan is cramming more creature comforts into its new Qashqai Sound & Style special edition.
‘Downsizing’ is one of the key buzzwords in the automotive industry right now. It refers to people trading down from larger vehicles – which may be ‘gas guzzling’, or simply too conspicuously materialistic – into smaller ones.
But in so doing, ‘downsizers’ are still keen to hold on to as many creature comforts as they have become used to…
Qashqai gets Bose stereo
The Nissan Qashqai is already prime target for such buyers, as it combines chunky ‘off-roader’ looks with hatchback handling, MPV practicality, and low running costs.
This new Sound & Style special edition, however, makes the case even more convincingly.
As the name suggests, the Sounds & Style features various cosmetic upgrades – including large, 18-inch alloy wheels, half-leather interior trim, satin silver detailing, and exclusive Nightshade purple paint – but also a bespoke stereo system from high-end maker, Bose.
This has been specially designed for the Qashqai’s interior acoustics, and includes a six-CD changer, multi-channel digital amplifier, and seven speakers – including a subwoofer in a special enclosure mounted inside the spare wheel.
Prices from £19,199
The Qashqai Sound & Style comes with a 2.0-litre petrol or diesel engine, front-wheel drive chassis, and six-speed manual gearbox.
It’s available to buy now, priced at £19,199 for the petrol and £20,599 for the diesel. You may need to move fast, though, as the Qashqai remains a popular car with private buyers.
