The Bush BD01 has been reduced as part of Argos’ winter sale, with the Argos website listing stock of the model for less than £100.
Budget Blu-ray DVD players
The Which? Blu-ray DVD player report features 12 Blu-ray player reviews, with the Sharp BD-HP20H, at £161 the closest in to the Bush BD01 in price.
Ben Stevens, Which? researcher, said: ‘The Bush BD01 will draw a big crowd and sell out very quickly due to its price, it might be worth not simply picking up the cheapest model. For less than £60 you can buy a Best Buy standard DVD player, and for around £200 you can pick up a Best Buy Blu-ray disc player.
‘Depending on your budget and your film collection, it would be worth still buying a Best Buy DVD player if you have plenty of DVDs, or if you want to start viewing Blu-ray discs then it might be worth spending more on a Best Buy Blu-ray disc player. While the Bush BD01 will allow you to play your collection of standard DVDs and ‘upscale’ their resolution, our research has shown that doing so usually produces disappointing results.’
There are currently 24 DVD player reviews in the Which? DVD player report, and 45 DVD recorder reviews in the Which? DVD recorder report. Which? hasn’t tested the Bush BD01 Blu-ray player.
