18 December 2008
Still looking for those last few Christmas presents? If you’re caught in a last-minute rush, you could easily end up paying more than you have to for gifts. But shopping around to find the best price may be easier than you thought.
Save £37 on an iPod Nano
If you’d been looking to buy the latest 8GB iPod Nano yesterday, Which? Compare could have saved you £37 – more than 27% – by steering you towards Amazon.co.uk (£98 including delivery) rather than Littlewoods (£135).
Get directed to the best sat nav prices
Sat navs are increasingly popular Christmas gifts; unfortunately retailers are well aware of this, so the festive season is one of the most expensive times of year to buy a sat nav. However, you can still find great deals on Best Buy sat navs on Which? Compare. We found the Best Buy TomTom GO 520 for £180 at Halfords – a massive saving of £114, or nearly 40%, on Amazon.co.uk’s price of £294. You could also save a packet on the Garmin Nuvi 205WT. Which? Compare found it for £130 at Halfords and Amazon.co.uk – £35 less than John Lewis is asking for this Best Buy sat nav.
Snap up a bargain digital camera
You’ll want to capture those Christmas memories, too, but a Best Buy camera needn’t break the bank. Which? Compare found the Best Buy Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 for £87 at Comet and Amazon.co.uk – £40 less that you’d pay for it at department store House of Fraser. Which? Compare could also save you £40 on the Best Buy Canon Ixus 90IS, which is £146 at Currys, instead of £186 at Jessops.
