Ford Fiesta

Tempting discounts on new Fiesta

The Ford Fiesta was the UK’s bestselling car in December. So, you’d have thought discounts were thin on the ground.

Not at all. Starting at the bottom of the range, Cheap Cars Online can do you a pre-registered 1.25-litre petrol three-door in entry-level Studio trim for £6,965. That’s a £1,549 discount over the £8,514 list price.

Prefer to buy brand new? Then how about the next model up, a 1.25-litre petrol Fiesta in Style trim and with more power from Autobytel.

Priced £7,394 it’s cheaper than most places are doing the basic Studio, and £2,197 less than the £9,591 list price.

Cee'd savings

Sticking with sensible hatchbacks, Broadspeed looks good if you want a decent price on an 08-plate Kia Cee’d.

Kia Cee'd

Outstanding value - Kia Cee'd

It’s advertising turbodiesel models from £7,999 – which is a saving of £4,346 against even the entry-level £12,345 Cee’d S diesel.

Mileage varies from the nearly new and basically unused up to around 14,000. See Broadspeed’s website for more information, and don’t forget – a year-old Kia Cee’d still has six years’ warranty left.

Mainstream metal

For a more mainstream badge at a similar price point, try Motorpoint for a used deal on Which?’s favourite family hatchback, the Mazda3. There’s a choice of basic 1.6-litre petrol TS versions in stock, 57-plates from £7,299, 08-plates from £7,999, all with around 10,000 miles.

Renault Koleos

Koleos deals

Finally, another surprisingly cheap leasing deal. Carfile is offering Contract Hire on the Renault Koleos compact SUV at the rate of £166+VAT (£191) a month.

That’s for a decent 2.0-litre turbodiesel, Dynamique trim, metallic paint, and front-wheel drive. If you’d prefer a four-wheel drive model (and can afford the extra running costs), it’s just £7 more.

To put the amount of vehicle you’re getting for your money into perspective, a 2.0-litre turbodiesel Volkswagen Golf in basic S trim from leasing specialist Jamjar cars is currently £285 per month (inc VAT).
