Fujifilm boosts its budget camera line-up Finepix range now includes A100, A150 and F200

Hot on the heels of cheap models from Canon and Panasonic, Fujifilm has announced the launch of two new budget digital cameras.

Fujifilm A100

The Fujifilm Finepix A100 and A150 are both small and lightweight, featuring a 10Mp resolution and sporting a 35.5-106.5mm lens. The A150 features a 3-inch LCD screen, and the A100 has a 2.7-inch screen, according to Fujifilm. The company says that both models feature face detection.

Christopher Christoforou, Which? digital cameras expert said: ‘Fujifilm A-series cameras have been a bit hit or miss in the past, we look forward to testing these models to see what camp they fall into. Certainly they have a good specification, and although Fujifilm hasn’t announced prices yet, we think they will be priced around £100 or below.’

Finepix F200EXR has 12Mp and ISO 12800 setting

Fujifilm F200

The company has also announced the Finepix F200EXR, an advanced digital camera that follows in the footsteps of several excellent Fujifilm F-series cameras such as the F10 and the F31fd.

The Finepix F200EXR includes a 12Mp sensor – and the company claims that the sensor works in different ways depending on whether you are photographing in normal or dimly lit conditions, or scenes where parts of the image are bright and others are much darker.

The F200EXR has aperture and shutter speed priority modes, a film-simulation mode that can mimic the effects of different Fujifilm films, image stabilisation, and a maximum ISO setting of 12800 – although choosing that will limit your photos to 3Mp.

Pricing and availabilty are still to be announced.
