Nokia has announced the launch of two GPS phones - the Navigator 6710 and the 6720 Classic.

Joining the growing band of phones with satellite navigation (sat-nav), the 6710 Navigator is a stylish, slightly curved slider phone.

Nokia claims the phone has the latest mapping technology, yet is easy to use, with features such as a dedicated navigator key, a touch-area for easy map zooming and a large display.

Navigator 6710 comes with maps

Maps are ready-installed, so you can start navigating when you turn the phone on. You also get an in-car holder so the 6710 is ready to go straight from the box.

The 6710 will be available in the summer and is likely to cost more than £270.

Nokia 6720 Classic

Nokia is also launching the 6720 Classic, which like the Navigator, has GPS and a 5Mp camera. It also has a TV-out connection for sharing pictures and video on a bigger screen. This phone will be available slightly earlier than the Navigator, and is likely to cost more than £220.

Jon Barrow, Which? mobile phones expert, said: 'Mobile phones fitted with GPS are the next big thing, and Nokia was one of the first to recognise this with its range of Navigator handsets. Most satnav-capable phones are designed for pedestrian use but what's interesting about the Nokia 6710 is that it comes with the Nokia CR-111 car holder and so is clearly intended to be of equal use for drivers.'
