Samsung ES10

Samsung's new budget camera will be hitting the shelves shortly and it's expected to be sold at a bargain price.

Samsung's ES10 follows the launch of cheap models from Canon, Panasonic, Fujifilm and others.

The ES10 is small, boxy and basic looking. Powered by AA-size batteries, it sports an 8.1Mp sensor and a 38-114mm optical zoom lens.

There are few frills on this camera, but one feature we like is the Self Portrait function.

When pointing the camera at yourself to take a picture, it beeps to let you know when your face is properly positioned and not out of the frame. It can recognise up to three faces.

Christopher Christoforou, Which? digital cameras expert, said: ‘Samsung recognises the current demand for cheaper compact cameras, and while a price for the ES10 is yet to be announced, we expect it to be under £100.

'We think this model will be popular with budget-conscious people wanting better pictures than those they get with their mobile phone.’
