Woolworths bought by Shop DirectLittlewoods owner to relaunch Woolworths online
02 February 2009
Woolworths is to be relaunched as an online store after being bought today by a home shopping giant.
Shop Direct is the UK’s biggest online and catalogue shopping store, owning brands including Littlewoods and Kays. Woolworths was one of the first casualties of the credit crunch, collapsing into administration last November. The last of its stores closed early in January.
Shop Direct plans to launch Woolworths online this summer, and it will announce details of new product ranges in the next few months.
