Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser have all announced sale events this week in a bid to outdo each other on price.

For the rest of this week, shoppers can secure bargains of up to 25% across a range of clothing, cosmetics and homewares in the high street’s largest department store chains.

Sales at Debenhams and House of Fraser

Debenhams started the department store price war with price cuts of up to 25% across its clothing, homewares and cosmetics departments.

House of Fraser is offering discounts on clothing, accessories and cosmetics and multi-buy offers on selected homewares.

Both sale events kicked off yesterday and will end on Saturday, 7 March.

John Lewis responds to rivals

John Lewis has today cut prices by up to 20% today across its product ranges.

It said the move was ‘responding to a competitor event’.
