Called the ‘limited three’, it's available as coupé or cabrio, and is based on the existing 70bhp smart ForTwo passion specification. It comes complete with smart’s new ‘micro hybrid drive’ stop-start system.
Unlike other stop-start systems, micro hybrid drive works by killing engine power at speeds under 5mph when the driver is braking. As soon as the driver releases the brake, the engine starts again. It helps this smart achieve 65.7mpg combined (64.2mpg cabrio), and 103g/km CO2 emissions (105g/km cabrio).
Special exterior features for the limited three edition include 'vibrant melon green' metallic paint, silver tridion safety cell, six-spoke alloys and limited three 'logos' (not badges, you’ll notice).
On the inside you get unique stripey seats, brown leather steering wheel and gearknob, plus matt silver dashboard and instrument trimmings.
Numbers are, you guess it, ‘limited’ – though smart isn’t saying by exactly how many.
Priced from £9,950 for the coupé, £11,900 for the cabrio, the smart ForTwo limited three is on sale now.
