No need to wait for the government's to take effect - you can save thousands on new and nearly new cars already, including the legendary Honda S2000.

Save big bucks on outgoing S2000
The sun is shining, the birds are singing – it must be nearly summer. So, time to buy a convertible .
And simply nothing else offers the same blend of visceral thrills and bulletproof reliability as the Honda S2000.
The GT version – which includes a hardtop for year-round convenience – currently lists at £28,670. UK Car Discount is selling brand-new unregistered examples for £21,800. That's a chunky £6,870 saving.
If you've always wanted an S2000, now is the time to act – it's about to be discontinued and Honda has revealed no plans for a replacement.
Volvo S60 for less than £17k
The Volvo S60 is also at the end of its life – a stylish new model is coming, and the old one is no longer featured on Volvo's official website.
Motorpoint, however, has managed to get its hands on a few unregistered examples of the S60 2.0-litre turbo petrol, in SE specification with automatic gearbox and metallic paint.
Save more than £10k on a nearly new BMW X5
Priced at £16,999, that's a £6,763 saving over the last list price, and a tempting discount on a sensible mid-sized executive car.
Save £10k on diesel BMW X5
The BMW X5 is probably one of the least subtle you can buy, and in the current climate this is starting to impact – as Autoquake proves with another deal on an impressive second-hand example.
This X5 is an 08-plate in top spec M Sport trim with just 5,584 miles under its wheels. What's more it's the relatively frugal yet exceptionally powerful 3.0sd turbodiesel model. The 0-62mph sprint is dispatched in just 7.0 seconds, yet it’s still officially capable of 34.4mpg combined.
The list price for this X5 brand new is £47,880. At Autoquake it's yours for £37,500 – a massive saving of £10,380 for buying used.
