New 1.6 diesel for Mazda 2 Sport

Mazda has a new addition to its line – the 1.6D Sport. Priced from £12,817, this is powered by a 1.6-litre turbodiesel engine. Producing 89bhp, it shifts the Mazda 2 from 0-62mph in 11.4 seconds, returns 67.3mpg fuel economy, and emits just 112g/km CO2.

Available in three- and five-door body styles, standard equipment includes climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, ‘Sports Styling Kit’, darker interior finish, auto lights and wipers, six airbags, and stability control. The Mazda 2 1.6D Sport is on sale now.

New trim levels and lower prices for Nissan 4x4s

Nissan X-Trail Tekna

0% finance on Nissan X-Trail

Nissan has adjusted the pricing and trim levels for its X-Trail, Navara and Pathfinder .

The X-Trail range now consists of two new models, Acenta and Tekna, replacing the old Sport, Trek and Aventura Explorer. Equipment is improved – most notably with better stereos – yet prices are up to £550 less. From £22,345.

Similarly, the Navara is reduced from five previous models to the two new Acenta and Tekna specifications. Priced from £16,295, these are up to £1,305 less than before.

Finally, the Pathfinder. Again Acenta and Tekna replace the previous versions. No savings this time, but equipment levels are seriously comprehensive. Six CD changer, stability control, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth and 17-inch alloys are all standard. From £26,895.

A 0% finance offer is available on all three revised Nissans. Terms and conditions apply. See your local Nissan dealer for details.

New entry-level Renault Mégane Extreme

Renault has introduced a new entry-level . Called the Extreme – as is typical for Renault’s budget offerings – this is available with a 1.6-litre petrol or 1.5 dCi turbodiesel. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, electric front windows and stability control.

Priced £13,250 for the petrol and £14,950 for the diesel, the Extreme represents a £900 saving on the previous cheapest Megane Expression.

Volvo DRIVe goes R-Design

Volvo C30 DRIVe R Design

Volvo C30 DRIVe R-Design

Volvo’s eco-friendly DRIVe C30, S40 and V50 models are now available with an R-Design bodykit for sportier looks. This may seem slightly odd, but if you fancy a sporty green car, now you can have one.

Compared with the regular DRIVe versions, however, the R-Design equipment does damage the efficiency somewhat as fuel economy drops from 72.4mpg to 62.8mpg. CO2 emissions still impress at 119g/km, however.

Prices start at £17,240 for the C30, rising to £20,595 for the V50.

Skoda Octavia vRS and Scout facelift

Finally, Skoda has announced facelifted versions of the vRS and Octavia Scout models. These follow on from revisions to the ordinary Octavia range last October. The changes include heavily modified front-end looks and improved interior quality.
