Like a bargain? Then you'll love our massive discounts on everything from a humble Vauxhall Vectra to a sporty Nissan 350Z.
Up to £7,000 off the mighty Mondeo
£7,000 saving on top spec Ford Mondeo
Now is the perfect time to buy a large, non-premium saloon, as sales in this segment are suffering through a combination of buyer apathy and downsizing desires.
The Ford Mondeo is perhaps the best all-rounder, especially in five-door hatchback guise. Buy A Car can do you a discount on any model in the range, but we've concentrated on the diesels for sensible running costs.
Most sensible of all is the ECOnetic, the 1.8 TDCI version officially returning 53.3mpg combined while emitting just 139g/km CO2. A example can be yours for £14,308 – a saving of £5,337 against the £19,645 list price.
The sensible Vauxhall Vectra
Of course, if want maximum spec for minimum money, the biggest discount is on the 2.2 TDCI Titanium X Sport. List price for this car is £26,995, Buy A Car has it at £19,656. That's £7,339 off.
£9,000 for a nearly new Vauxhall Vectra
Saving not big enough? And you just need sensible transport? Then how about a Vauxhall Vectra?
Autoquake has a couple of 58-plate 1.8-litre petrol examples available in sporty SRI trim. One of them has only covered 1,235 miles (and the other just 3,012). Hardly cutting-edge machinery, but excellent value at £8,995 apiece.
Save £10.5k on the Nissan 350Z
Save £10.5k on the Nissan 350Z
In an effort to get your heart rate back to normal after all that excitement, how about a enormous saving on the Nissan 350Z?
Since it's summer – and the Coupé has already been replaced by the new 370Z – the deal we've got in mind is on the open-top Roadster. Broadspeed is offering /barely used examples of the entry-level specification for £18,502, and the fully-loaded GT for £20,127.
The list prices for new ones of these are £28,195 and £30,695, respectively. That means Broadspeed's deal represents massive £9,693 and £10,568 savings on each model.
Grab an old-model bargain C4
Citroen C4 for under £9,000
Finally, back to reality with another substantial second-hand saving.
Motorpoint has a selection of 1.6-litre HDI turbodiesel Citroen C4s available in VTR+ trim. They are all '08 registration five-doors, with slightly above average mileage of 15-16,000 in most cases, and come with the more powerful '110' engine but no diesel particulate filter. The price is £8,999.
Now, the Citroen C4 did receive a mid-life facelift late last year, so it isn't a direct like-for-like comparison. But the list price for a new equivalent is currently £16,495. Given the £7,496 saving, we'd put up with last year's model, too.
