Nintendo has announced Wii Fit Plus - the sequel to its popular Wii Fit exercise game that has sold 15 million units since it launched.
Speaking at the annual E3 conference in the US, Nintendo claims that the new version of Wii Fit will be more flexible, and can be better tailored to the individuals work out needs. Methods for doing this include stringing together certain activity types selected by the user, and the option to remove interludes between workouts to make for a more flowing session. In addition, Wii Fit Plus also keeps track of the total number of calories burned by the user this time around.

New Wii Fit Plus activities
Wii Fit Plus will contain new activities not seen in the original, with six new strength and yoga activities, and fifteen new balance games, including skateboarding and juggling, according to Nintendo. An interactive mode that sees users walking and jumping to navigate through a game world debuts, says the company, and will work in a similar way to Nintendo's popular Mario games. Another activity sees the player circling their hips in a specific direction to solve onscreen sums, similar to Nintendo's Brain Training game for the Nintendo DS.
Wii Fit Plus will be launched towards the end of the year, and available as a bundle with the Wii Balance Board. The software will also be available to purchase separately for those who already own the board.
