Beko has launched a washing machine it says is the fastest in the world.
The Beko Xpress WMD78144 is an 8kg capacity machine offering a selection of quick program options. It’s designed to wash a 2kg load in 14 minutes and 8kgs in less than half an hour.

Beko Xpress energy efficiency
Although officially recognised energy ratings for washing machines go no higher than an A rating, Beko says the Xpress washing machine is 30% more efficient than A rated appliances.

The Beko Xpress has 16 main programs including special ones for duvets, baby and toddler garments and sportswear. You can also delay your wash by up to 24 hours and the machine boasts an automatic half-load feature to help save energy and water.
Beko washing machines
Which? washing machine expert Katie Waller says: ‘Many machines have reduced-load quick wash programs, but the 28 minute full load and 58 minute 60°C washes offered by this machine are less commonplace. We’ve not tested this model yet, but in our experience. quick programs tend to use more energy than standard washes because they have to heat the water faster. Quick washes aren’t factored into the energy rating on an appliance.’
The Xpress WMD778144 will be available from October 2009.
