Fans of the classic Monopoly board game are now able to play online thanks to Monopoly City Streets - with every street in the world a potential property in what could be the world's largest virtual game of Monopoly.

Anyone can play Monopoly City Streets using Google Maps or Open Street Map so almost ‘every street in the world’ is up for grabs.

All players will start with £3 million cash to build their virtual property empire.

How to play

To play, simply search for the street you want to buy. Players are then be presented with a property deed card and will have the chance to buy the street.

Like the traditional board game, players will be able to build properties on the streets that they own – although Monopoly City Streets comes with a twist. Chance cards include a Bulldozer card, which will allow players to wipe out their opponents’ housing and properties by clicking on their name.

Design your own hotels

Players can take part in an online competition to find three new Monopoly game pieces, and to have your building design included in the biggest game of Monopoly ever, according to the organisers. Entrants can use Google SketchUp to design a 3D building and upload it to the Google 3D warehouse to enter it into the competition.

Monopoly City Streets was designed by Hasbro’s UK digital agency Tribal DDB

The game will run for four months.
