Get a sporty Insignia for less
This week’s round-up contains a car to suit most tastes. Need lots of space? Then try a Vauxhall Insignia for size. Want a sophisticated saloon? How about a Jaguar XF? Or if you’re after a rip-snorting hot hatch, we’ve got the Ford Focus RS for less.
Save £7k on Vauxhall Insignia
Motorpoint has taken delivery of a number of Vauxhall Insignias, and is offering some at substantial discounts.
The cheapest car is a 1.8-litre petrol SRi model with delivery miles, priced at £14,999. We have seen lower spec Insignias for as little as £12k in the past, but this sporty example pitches in at £4,583 less than list - a highly competitive price.
Alternatively, you can choose an Elite-spec Insignia with the same engine for £16,499 - a £6,783 saving over list.
And if you want to save even more, Motorpoint has a selection of used Insignias available. They include a 58-plate 2.0-litre CDTi turbodiesel with 9,700 miles for £14,699 - that’s £7,678 less than the price new.
These Vauxhalls are apparently going fast - Motorpoint says it has sold 12 in the past seven days. So don’t hang about if you want one.
Big discounts on luxurious Jaguars
Jaguar XFs with 9% off
If the big Vauxhall isn’t quite posh enough for you, then how about a Jaguar XF? Carfile has selection for sale from stock - all with a 9% discount.
This means you won’t be able to specify your preferred optional extras. But Carfile’s choice includes both standard and S versions of the latest 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine, Luxury and Portfolio trim levels and some tasty treats from the accessories catalogue.
Our pick? How about an Ultimate Black 3.0D Luxury with charcoal leather, 19-inch alloy wheel upgrade, DAB digital radio, blind spot monitors, and parking aid pack (which includes a reversing camera). List price for that lot is in the region of £36,831 – and we calculate a 9% saving should reduce it by £3,315 to £33,516.
Rare chance to make a saving on a Focus RS
£1,000 off a Ford Focus RS
Mammoth Cars seems be rather a specialist at offering discounts on the most wanted performance cars.
This time it is offering a £1,000 discount on the latest Ford Focus RS. And these are unregistered cars available for January 2010 delivery, in various specifications, with prices starting at £25,395. While a £1,000 saving doesn’t sound like much, it is pretty remarkable to get any kind of saving on the Focus RS at the moment.
Alternatively, Mammoth Cars is also offering savings of £4,440 on the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG - the super-fast V8 C-Class that’s more powerful than BMW’s M3. Stock and factory order slots are available with prices starting at £45,906.
