Audi A3 Sportback is 11% cheaper
Great winter deals on everything from MPVs to sports cars - including Renault Grand Scénic and Mazda RX-8.
First up, how about a Renault Grand Scénic diesel for under £16k? We've found a nice flexible deal from UK Car Discount, who are offering a £4,340 saving on the Grand Scénic, regardless of whether you want it from stock or as a new order.
It’s the frugal 1.5-litre dCi turbodiesel model in Dynamique trim, and the asking price includes metallic paint. Practical people moving that won’t break the bank, then. List price is £20,040, but here it’s down to £15,700.
Diesel Audis with 10% off
Drive the Deal has a selection of stock diesel Audis available - each with a minimum 10% saving.
Choose from a pair of Audi A3 three-door SE models with the ultra frugal new 1.6-litre TDI turbodiesel engine, an A3 Sportback five-door 2.0 TDI S Line, or a TT Coupé also in S Line trim with the 2.0-litre TDI engine.
The three-door A3s are loaded with extras, and reduced from £19,918 to £17,790 and £19,742 to £17,636 respectively. Those savings represent a 10.5% discount. Alternatively, the A3 Sportback, also fully loaded, is reduced from £25,455 to £22,591 - an 11% discount.
Our favourite, though, is the Best Buy TT, which has quattro four-wheel drive and a list price of £28,587. Here it’s down to £25,801 - a 10% saving. All the cars are brand new and unregistered. Act fast to beat the VAT rise in January.
Jaguar XF is less than £30k at Carfile
£8,000 off Cadillac BLS
Looking for a really big discount? Then just a quick reminder that there are lots of Cadillac BLS models floating around at the moment, and dealers are desperate to shift them.
Broadspeed, for example, is advertising pre-registered 09- or 59-plate Caddies with a maximum of 100 miles and including satellite navigation, a Bose sound system and leather for just £13,993.
The absolute minimum recommended retail price for a BLS is £22,000 - so that’s a saving of at least £8,007, without even taking into account the equipment.
VW Polo, Merc E-Class and Jag XF discounts
Carfile currently has three headline offers that are worth considering.
First of all, the broker is still offering an 8% saving on the new Volkswagen Polo. This includes both three- and five-door models (although note the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol engine is only available with a 6% saving, probably due to limited margins), and you can even save a further £1,750 through the scrappage scheme.
So the 1.2 TSI turbo petrol in top-spec SEL trim lists at £14,535 as a five-door, but with 8% off is £13,372. Deduct another £1,750 for scrappage and you could be driving away with one for just £11,622 - barely more than list price for an entry-level Ford Fiesta (£11,295).
There is also 8% saving on all new Mercedes E-Class saloons and estates, bar the AMG range. Our pick would be an E250 CDI Saloon - £28,191 at list price, with an 8% saving reducing it to £25,935.
Finally, Carfile is also able to offer 10.5% off all Jaguar XF models - bluntly stating that this is an attempt to generate more sales for the start of 2010. XF prices start at £32,900 - 10.5% off that reduces the entry point to £29,445.
Buy a Peugeot 308 Sport for £12,318
Mazda RX-8 at nearly £8k off
Fancy something a little sportier? Buy A Car has an excellent savings on stock Mazda RX-8s.
This is the very latest R3 version, with revised looks and gearing, plus a high-revving 228bhp rotary petrol engine. It's not an efficient or cheap-to-run car, but the RX-8 has plenty of character and is surprisingly practical.
The recommended retail price is £24,478. Buy A Car has them at just £16,495 - a huge £7,983 reduction.
Save nearly £5k on Peugeot 308
This is a cheap, family-sized car, and we've found Peugeot 308 five-door hatchbacks in Sport specification for £12,318.
A choice of metallic colours is available, and all the cars are equipped with the 1.6-litre petrol engine. The spec includes seven airbags and stability control (ESC), and list price is £17,245 (including metallic paint).
In stock at Buy A New Car Online, including 12 months’ tax and free delivery, that £12,318 price represents a solid £4,927 saving.
