Which? has put nine of the latest dishwashers to the test, with one model achieving our coveted Best Buy accolade.

The new dishwashers came from Bosch, Hotpoint, Ikea, Matsui, Siemens, Smeg, and Zanussi.

We tested the dishwashers on a variety of factors including their cleaning ability, drying ability, water consumption and energy consumption.

New Best Buy

Which? dishwasher expert Matt Stevens said: 'The new Best Buy dishwasher scored highly for energy consumption and water consumption, making it a good choice if you're looking to cut your energy bills.'

The cheapest dishwasher we tested was the Matsui MS452, for £200. The most expensive was the £700 Bosch SBV50E10GB.

Compact, free-standing and built-in models were all tested.
