Fiat 500 Pink limited editionHot pink 500 is first of many special editions
20 January 2010
In a move so obvious it’s a wonder hasn’t done it, Fiat has announced a limited edition Fiat 500 Pink.
The Fiat 500 Pink is, as the name says, finished in bright Barbie pink. Just 500 will be made (thank goodness) and it will be available for online ordering only - presumably to prevent you from seeing such a horrific hue in the flesh.
It’s based on the existing 1.2-litre petrol Lounge specification, and is aimed primarily at ‘young women’. Fiat reckons it will become a ‘must-have’ motoring fashion item. We think we'd prefer
Barbie fans or bargain hunters?
The colour appears similar to the one-off Barbie 500 that Fiat built to celebrate the toy doll’s 50th birthday.
Fitted equipment on the limited edition includes the 500’s recently introduced fuel saving Start&Stop system, which switches the engine off at idle, and is standard on all new Fiat 500s, plus a sunroof, leather gearknob, black interior, pink key cover and special carpet mats.
The extra kit is worth £1,500 altogether, but with the Fiat 500 Pink costing £11,700, the customer makes a saving of £500. That’s assuming you can live with the colour of the car's paintwork...
More Fiat 500 specials on the way
Should you prefer a more subtle colour in combination with extra value, don’t worry, Fiat says this and the Fiat 500 by Diesel are the first of many special edition 500s coming this year.
The Fiat 500 Pink is on sale now. If you're feeling brave and want to place an order, visit the Fiat website.
