Canon Ixus 210 and Canon Ixus 130 launched14 megapixel cameras added to Canon Ixus range

Canon has added three digital cameras to its compact Ixus range - the Canon Ixus 210, the Canon Ixus 130 and the Canon Ixus 105.
The latest releases from Canon feature wide angle lenses and ultra-slim camera bodies, which make it easier to take photos while out and about, according to Canon.

Canon Ixus 210 touchscreen digital camera
The Canon Ixus 210 is the second Canon digital camera to feature a touchscreen, following on from last year's Canon Ixus 200 IS model.

The new Canon Ixus 210 features an increased resolution of 14Mp, up from 12Mp on the 200 IS model, which should allow for detailed photos that can be enlarged to poster sizes.
The Canon Ixus 210 has a 3.5 inch touchscreen
3.5 inch touchscreen
Canon claims that the new Ixus 210 model is its most advanced touchscreen camera to date, allowing you to navigate the menu and adjust settings at the touch of a finger.
You can scroll through your pictures by running a finger along the large 3.5 inch screen. Alternatively, you can tap the sides of the camera to scroll between shots. You can tag favourite pictures using the touchscreen, as well as deleting and rotating images.
The touchscreen menu can be customised, allowing you to prioritise your favourite icons and change the colour scheme. We'll test the full functionality of the Ixus 210 as soon as the camera becomes available in early March.
24mm wide angle lens camera
The Canon Ixus 210 features a 5x optical zoom, letting you get closer to more distant subjects. This zoom begins from a wide angle of 24mm, letting you fit much more into shot without having to step further back, which Canon says is ideal for group shots and landscape photography.
There's also an HD movie mode on the Canon Ixus 210, allowing you to record videos at a 720p resolution. The camera has an integrated HDMI port for direct connection to an HD TV.
The Canon Ixus 210 will be available from early March and cost £349.

The Canon Digital Ixus 130 is just 1.7cm thick
Canon Ixus 130 ultra-slim camera
Canon also unveiled the new ultra-slim Canon Ixus 130. Measuring just 1.7cm at its thickest point, the Ixus 130 is designed to slip into a pocket with ease.
Despite its small frame, the Canon Ixus 130 still packs a high resolution 14Mp sensor, which Canon claims allows you take detailed shots that can be enlarged when printing.
The camera features a modest 4x optical zoom, though this begins from a wide angle of 28mm, making it easier to fit in group shots and landscape photos without having to step further back.
HD video recording with the Canon Ixus 130
The Canon Ixus 130 also boasts an HD video mode, letting you record movies at a resolution of 720p. The camera's supplied software also features a YouTube upload function, which Canon claims allows for quick and simple video sharing.
The Ixus 130 has a 2.7 inch LCD screen for viewing your photos on and for composing shots. However, the camera has dropped the small optical viewfinder which until recently was a common feature of the Canon Ixus range.
The Canon Ixus 130 is available from March for £279.
Canon Ixus 105 digital camera
Canon also unveiled the affordable Canon Ixus 105 model, a 12Mp compact model that Canon claims is ideal for easy everyday shooting.
The lower resolution of 12Mp may seem modest compared to the 14Mp Ixus 130 and Ixus 210 models, but in practice this is perfectly sufficient for most photography needs.
'It's worth remembering that for a standard 6x4 inch photo, all you need is a 2.2Mp camera,' says Which? senior researcher Richard Parris. 'With that in mind, a 12Mp camera still gives plenty of scope for printing enlargements.'
The Canon Ixus 105 also has the YouTube upload software featured on the Canon Ixus 130 model, though the cheaper 105 model doesn't offer HD video recording. Instead, it only records at a lower 640x480 VGA resolution.
The Canon Ixus 105 is available in March and will cost £189.
