Leisure’s latest range cooker attempts to mix contemporary with traditional to appeal to modern kitchen owners.
The Range 90 Contemporary is available in black or stainless steel and comes with LED clock display, metal controls and handles – ‘perfect’, the company says, ‘for those who love the idea of a range cooker but wish to achieve a contemporary look’.
The stainless steel range cooker model (CMCE96) is on sale now, while the black model (CMCF96) is expected to hit shops in April. Both are available as dual fuel or electric appliances.
Which? tests range cookers
Which? has tested 47 range cookers on the market, including one Leisure model, the Leisure EB10FRX. Find out how this and other range cookers from the likes of Rangemaster, Falcon, Flavel and Smeg measure up in our range cookers report.
According to Which? cookers expert Matt Stevens: ‘Whether you go for a contemporary or traditional style, range cookers look great. And with wok burners, griddles and hot-plates they usually offer more cooking options than a standard four-ring freestanding cooker.
‘But cooking performance is important for consumers too and that’s why we’re currently testing 14 more range cookers. We’ll be reporting back with the results in our range cookers review in June.’
We also test freestanding cookers, built-in ovens and cooker hoods.
Leisure range cookers
The Range 90 Contemporary consists of a ‘large capacity’ triple oven – main oven, tall fan oven and small oven and grill – a five burner hob including wok burner on the dual fuel model, plus ‘durable’ matt cast iron pan supports.
Prices start at around £1,200 – visit the Leisure website for details of local stockists.
