Although 42% of the British population likes to eat in bed, one in six leave it at least a month to change their sheets.

The muckiest 1% only changed their bedding three times a year, according to a survey commissioned by Sheilas' Wheels home insurance.

The areas with the dirtiest sheets were London, where 24% said they left it at least a month between washes. The cleanest sheets are in Northern Ireland, where only 8% leave it that long.
