Miele launches 'eco' vacuum cleanerNew Eco Line vac lets you 'go green as you clean'
01 March 2010
Miele has unveiled the Miele Eco Line S4212 - an 'environmentally friendly' vacuum cleaner with a 1300W motor.
The Eco Line comes with a 1300W motor but Miele claims it cleans as efficiently as a 2000W appliance. According to Miele the Ecoline combines 'optimum cleaning performance with complete energy efficiency'.
It costs around £159 and will be available from March 2010. We'll be testing the Miele Eco Line S4212 soon. In the meantime you can read reviews of 110 of the latest vacuum cleaners from brands including Miele, Dyson and Hoover in our vacuum cleaners review.
Miele 'eco vacuum cleaner'
Which? vacuum cleaner expert Vivienne Fitzroy says: 'Design is just as important as wattage when it comes to how well a vacuum cleans. Our tests have shown that vacuum cleaners don't necessarily have to use a lot of energy to clean well, but we will have to test the Ecoline in our lab to see well it does on both counts.'
The new S4212 is described by Miele as quiet, compact and lightweight. It uses Miele HyClean dustbags which Miele says lock in the finest of dust particles and guarantees no leakage.
As well as vacuum cleaners, our laundry and cleaning section also includes reviews, including some on video, of the latest handheld vacuum cleaners, stick vacuum cleaners and carpet cleaners.
