31 March 2010

Panasonic is this week set to reveal its 2010 UK line-up of Viera 3D TVs and 3D Blu-ray players.

Follow all the 3D TV action, with photos and videos live from the Panasonic event in London, as Which? technology reporters bring you the latest information and answer your 3D TV questions.

The line-up includes speakers from broadcasters, film studios and 3D gaming brands, and a demonstration of what Panasonic describes as 'the first end-to-end total 3D solution'. This encompasses 3D content production using professional 3D video cameras, 3D Blu-ray disc production, and Full HD 3D home cinema systems, so Panasonic technologies are involved in all stages of 3D TV viewing.

3D TVs from Panasonic, LG and Philips

Panasonic revealed its first 3D-ready TVs in Munich last month. These included two VT20 plasma TV models that display 3D images at full high-definition. The VT20 TVs use the frame sequential method to achieve the 3D effect, by displaying 120 frames per second, alternating frames between the left and right eyes.

Earlier this month, LG announced its plans to launch the LG LX9900 3D-ready TV and LG BX580 3D Blu-ray player in the UK in spring 2010. And in February Philips revealed its 3D-ready 9000 Series TVs with LED backlighting.
