Barclaycard has doubled the Reward Money cashback available on purchases at participating retailers until 17 May.
The double Reward Money promotion means that customers can earn 2% on most transactions (1% at Shell) up to 17th May. To start earning cashback, cardholders need to log in or register at barclaycardfreedom.co.uk.
The cashback scheme was launched on 17 March at over 30,000 retail outlets, including retail giants Npower, LA Fitness, YO! Sushi, Nationwide Autocentres, Goldsmiths and Pizza Express, as well as many small and medium retailers. In the first two weeks of Barclaycard Freedom, cardholders earned a total of £164,936 in Reward Money.
Sarah Newman, managing director of Barclaycard Freedom said: ‘It’s great to see that customers are already reaping the rewards of our Barclaycard Freedom retailer coalition. With double Reward Money on offer until mid-May, the Easter break has been the perfect opportunity for people to earn extra.’

How the Barclaycard Freedom reward scheme works
Using chip and Pin technology, Barclaycard cardholders will automatically earn rewards, called ‘Reward Money’, when they use their Barclaycard at a participating retailer. After a transaction takes place, the cardholder will usually see their new Reward Money balance on the card machine.
The next time they use their card in a participating retailer, they will see the value of their Reward Money balance appear on the card machine before they enter their Pin to pay. They can then choose to put some or all of their Reward Money towards that transaction or can continue to save up for a future purchase at another retailer within the scheme.
An unbeatable credit card deal at selected retailers
Martyn Saville, Which? credit card expert, commented: ‘If you shop regularly at participating retailers, this new promotion is unbeatable. At a time when some card companies are cutting their reward schemes, Barclaycard is setting the bar higher, particularly if you take advantage of special promotions. Current offers include £5 Reward Money when you spend over £30 at Pizza Express.
‘Consumers who pay off their credit card bill in full every month should consider carrying two different cashback cards: a Barclaycard for shopping with retailers who participate in the Reward Money scheme, and another leading cashback credit card for all other purchases.’
