Leica unveils a high-end 'affordable' compactLeica V-Lux 20 digital camera for less than £500

Leica has announced the Leica V-Lux 20, a 'high-performance digital camera' with super-zoom and GPS tagging that will sell for less than £500.
Leica - a camera manufacturer better-known for its digital cameras costing upwards of £1,000 - will launch the V-Lux 20 in May and it will cost around £495, according to the company.

The 12.1Mp Leica V-Lux 20 has a 12x optical zoom (25-300mm) and offers HD video recording.
The V-Lux 20 features GPS tagging, a feature that electronically tags each image that you take using the camera's integrated GPS receiver. According to Leica, this is an easy way of reminding users exactly where each picture was taken, making it suitable for holiday-makers.

This feature identifies the time zone that the picture was taken in and can automatically display the names of 500,000 points of interest around the world - such as Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower.
The V-Lux 20 provides aperture and shutter speed manual settings and comes with a host of automatic modes, including face recognition, automatic scene modes and smart exposure.
It has a 3-inch LCD, an ISO range between 80-1,600 and comes supplied with Adobe Photoshop Element 8 photo-editing software.
